Here's a helpful hint: Keep in mind that Societies are adopting many Government specifications, which means you will have to pay for their document. To find the free Government version of many society specifications, type-in a spec number in the <Document Number> field on the ASSIST search page. If you don't know the spec number then use the <Title> field on the search page and type-in a couple of keywords. For instance, SAE AMS STD 2219 used to be MIL-STD-2219 - type-in 2219 in the <Document Number> field or type-in fusion welding in the <Title> field.
